Alientech Introduces OBD Protocol for Bosch MEVD17.2.G ECU

Alientech has unveiled new OBD programming support for the Bosch MEVD17.2.G ECU, specifically designed for high-performance BMW models. This update broadens the operational capabilities for BMW M vehicles, particularly those using the 3.0 S55 engine found in the M2 Competition and M4.

Previously, the MEVD17.2.G ECU could be accessed via BENCH and BOOT modes. The addition of OBD programming facilitates quicker engine tuning and calibration processes, enhancing efficiency for automotive tuners. This allows for more streamlined performance enhancements, making it easier to modify these BMW models directly through OBD.

Furthermore, the update also extends functionality through the use of Powergate, allowing end customers to perform OBD programming on their vehicles. This represents a significant step for owners of the BMW M series, as it offers a viable solution for programming and increasing performance on some of the most popular performance models in the market.
