BMW DME8 ECU Gets New OBD Unlock Patch
AutoTuner has announced a significant update for specific BMW DME8 ECUs, particularly those using Bosch MG1 technology. This update addresses issues that occurred when modifying and writing files to certain DME8 platforms, where diagnostic trouble codes linked to FSC activation checks would sometimes trigger.
The newly developed Improved OBD Unlock Patch is designed to prevent these FSC-related fault codes from occurring while flashing custom calibrations. Notably, the patch is applicable to models such as the Bosch MG1CS024, MG1CS049, and MG1CS201, all of which utilize the Tricore TC298 architecture.
It is essential to note that the implementation of this patch requires a new bench unlock procedure, which must be followed even for ECUs that were previously unlocked with earlier versions. Once the ECU has been properly unlocked on the bench with this latest patch, users can then carry out OBD flashing without encountering FSC activation errors.
For enhanced convenience, the update suggests the use of a plug-and-play adapter to simplify the bench connection process. Users are encouraged to update their AutoTuner software to ensure the smooth integration of this updated patch into their BMW tuning procedures.
