New OBD Protocol for Continental UTCU4 TCU Supports Multiple Brands
An update to KESS3 and Powergate now facilitates OBD access to the Continental UTCU4 TCU for automatic transmissions, including the 8FXX, 10R80, and 10R140 models.
This enhancement allows tuners to directly access transmission calibration via the diagnostic port, which expands the operational capabilities on various vehicles from 2017 onward. This includes models that utilize EcoBoost engines in different sizes like 1.5, 2.0, 2.3, 2.7, 3.0, and 3.5 liters, alongside the 5.0 Ti-VCT and EcoBlue variants, including both 1.5 and 2.0 liters, and the 6.7 V8 Power Stroke.
With this new capability, tuners can calibrate gearbox response tailored to both engine performance and vehicle application, making adjustments for high-load conditions as well as enhancing performance-oriented driving experiences. The addition of OBD mode for the Continental UTCU4 TCUs should streamline the tuning process for a wider array of vehicles, adding versatility when working with Ford, Lincoln, and Volkswagen platforms.
