New OBD Virtual Read Support for Continental M3D ECUs
Official support has been introduced for the Continental M3D ECUs used in various Ducati motorcycle models. This update allows tuners to utilize OBD Virtual Read (VR) functionality through the AutoTuner Tool.
To gain access to this new protocol, users must have the specific DUCATI OBD 4 Pin cable to connect to the motorcycle's diagnostic port. Without this hardware requirement, the new capabilities cannot be utilized.
The new support encompasses multiple Ducati models, including the Hypermotard 950 and 950 SP from 2019 onwards, the Monster 821 from 2014 to 2017, the Monster 1200 series from 2014 to 2017, the SuperSport and SuperSport S starting in 2017, and the Scrambler 1100 beginning in 2018. The range of engines supported includes multiple displacements, ensuring tuners have a wide array of options for performance enhancements.
For those interested in tuning Ducati motorcycles, it's recommended to update the software to take full advantage of the latest features now available for the Continental M3D ECUs. This addition represents a significant step for tuners looking to optimize performance for these popular Italian bikes.
